It has been a habit of mine to count the number of hours of sleep I had every time I wake up. If I slept for less than seven or eight hours, which are considered decent sleep hours for me, I make sure I get naps so that I will not be sleepy at work and I can forego my date with Mr. Pillow in the sleeping quarters.
Today, however, was different. I only had four hours of sleep thus I am so sleepy at work. I finished what I had to do today early on so I think I am entitled to do whatever I want to do in the remaining hours before I log off so long it does not go against our company values. I can doze off here in my station if only I have utter disregard to the feelings of my colleagues who are currently laboring to complete their daily reports. Or I can do advance work if only there are pending work that needs my attention. Or I can go to the sleeping quarters for a tryst with Mr. Pillow if only there is a vacant bunk for me which I am certain there is none at around this time. Or I can have a cup of coffee and cigarettes if only I have not restrained myself from those addictions. Or I can have my daily fix of the blog world if only I did not take care of that earlier.
I could never get enough of blogging so I opted to indulge myself some more with blogs. Since I already visited and commented on the blogs I frequent, I am cornered to write a new entry for my own. It will be nothing like the previous entries. No rude awakenings or life realizations. No memorable experiences or quotable quotes. This will be a regular one just to keep me awake.
Forgive me if this is bland and scrambled-egg like in thoughts.
I just needed to be awake.

Looking at interesting pictures on the National Geographic website wakes me up when I feel like sleeping in my cubicle. It helps. Really. It sparks up your interest and wakes your creative mind. :)
P.S.
I still can't give up coffee.
keitaro hanazawa: Hmmm.. Maybe I can give it a try one of these days. :)
Maybe later because I only have 2 hours of sleep as of now. If I'll not be able to nap again before going to work, I will be surely gazing at those pictures. hehehe
Thanks for the advice and for dropping by. :)
Which reminds me- WALA AKONG WORK! because i cannot..
LUCKY YOU, you have the strength. Haaayy
@chyng: You'll get better that's for sure. Don't feel bad about it. Cheer up! :)
Just out of sheer curiousity, why didnt you get enough sleep? ;-)
I was sort of feeling sluggish at work yesterday too. The whole day, I drank several cups of coffee and lighted a few cigs to keep me from dozing off. When I got off around 530, my system was already up and running. Too bad for me because I found myself being awake until 3 am - vicious cycle of my life.
8 hours of sleep. nah. kulang pa yan sakin. ha ha...
pero kahit alam kong kukulangin ako ng tulog at aantukin ako sa work, hala cge puyat pa rin. tulad ngaun. dapat natutulog na ako, tapos eh nagk-comment pa at iniisip ung mga ngyari sa ipopost ko...
pasaway eh..
wow...pareho pala tayo. blogging keeps me awake. at times i blame blogging for my lack of sleep. hehe! blogging plus a mug of creamed coffee? hays..sakit ng ulo yan kinabukasan para sa akin... stay awake and keep wrting... :)
anyway thanks for visiting my site again.
its very true na sometimes we find it easier to open up to someone we don't know. siguro dahil sa hindi nila tayo kilala, this serves as a defense of some sort. we can say anything without showing them who really are...wow...anong sinasabi ko...T_T
Sana nakarecover ka na sa antok mo. Medyo antok rin ako ngayon.
@tristan tan: Hmmm.. Due to recurring thoughts of a certain blogger. lol kidding
I had some bonding moments with some of my housemates. hehehe What kept you til 3am? Or should I say who kept you awake til 3? ;)
@lookingforthesource: Well, before I can sleep up to 12 hours a day. Then I realized, life is too short to be spent sleeping. hehehe ;)
@roneiluke,rn: hehehe no prob.
@mugen: That makes 2 of us wishing for the same thing. hehehe Today I slept for less than 7 hours again. So, later, hello nat geo pics. :)
hahaha. ganito ang regular picture kapag papasok ako sa office, bangag!!!
i know what the feeling is, madalas lutang, akala mo nag iisp pero ala naman talaga
I was manning my blog just in case someone decides to leave a message.. pathetic (haha). hope you sleep well tonight. sweet dreams! ;)
@wanderingcommuter: But then, it's amazing how we still get through the day, right? It's prolly some talent from third world country citizens. lol
@tristan tan: lol Thanks. Hope you sleep well too. :)
I have an average of 6 hours sleep (most times). Ive read somewhere that the ideal is 7 hours sleep. To have 8 hours sleep every nite is not healthy as well.
@kris jasper van dyke: oh, ok. I guess, even though I have an unusual sleeping pattern I still get the ideal number of sleep one needs. Well, at least on certain days. lol :)
the more i try to sleep, the more i can't. that's even when I already feel so drowsy. funny thing is, wala naman akong mabigat na iniisip. nway, nice blog here!
@r-yo: Wow, that must be some serious case of insomia. I was told that a glass or two of hot milk will help you get some ZZZs. "Just drink milk!" lol
Thanks so much! I appreciate it! :)
@prince couen golez: no prob! :)
hmmm.. once again, im sleepy.
there is no sleep for the wicked...
@tristan tan: Sleep when you need to. Don't deprive yourself of one of the best things in the world. Well, at least for those who want to forget their unhappy reality.
@boying: That's no wonder there's this someone I know who looks like he haven't slept for a long long time. lol
