Last month, I went to Bohol with a few friends and it was a blast! Armed with sunblock lotions with SPF 48 and 45, I enjoyed every single bonding moment under the sun. However, when I went back to Manila, I was dismayed to know that the lotions I generously smothered on my body were no match to the mighty sun. I still got sunburns and they hurt for a while that I swore not to do it again.
When I was getting ready for work earlier, I was delightfully surprised to receive a message from one of my friends from that Bohol escapade. We exchanged a few messages which went a little something like this.
J: Pssst.
JM: Hey, What’s up?
J: Nothing really. I just miss you. :) I am just looking at the pictures of us two. We had fun, right?
JM: Yeah. Sure, we did.
With a sweet message like that plus remembering all the fun we had, I will surely do it again without thinking twice. If and when we will have another getaway with maximum sun exposure, I will not hesitate to go. I will just need to find me another sunblock lotion with higher SPF though.

naku naman kahit maging negro ako habambuhay...okay lang yun. sa ngalan ng pag ibig. hahaha!
huh? bakit ganun ang tono ni ewiikk.. hahaha! i knew it!
@joaqui: wow.. bakasyon..ganun yata talaga ang araw, regardless ng tapang ng anti-uv lotion, we can't escape the heat.. hehehe
@wanderingcommuter: Hmmm... Seems likes someone is loving the sun while having fun with someone. Hmmmm...
Yikes, why does it rhyme? lol
@dabo: Somehow I am not surprised. :) lol
Yeah, true. Sunburn sucks though. It was painful, really painful. :(
ahhh..the power of love, heightened by the power of the sun...lol
@the geek: hehehe I'm happy if it's like that even it is platonic. :)
I wouldn't mind getting sunburned. Gusto ko magka-tan. Haha.
@mugen: Yeah. Tan is sexy. :)
Sunburn is painful. :(
or wear long-sleeved shirts
or bring a payong
lols
woof!
Try Semen2008, the ultimate skin protection. It might stink after some time, but at least your skin is safe.
that means global warming is happening. ahehehe!
ang sakit magkasunburn. hehe! i'd rather ko to the beach without the sun than suffer in blisters and peeling skin... ahehe!
that means i'm not a beach-type of person :)
A higher SPF does not mean that it is more "powerful" in blocking off the sun. A higher SPF simply means a longer period in between re-applying sunblock on your skin. Ergo, smaller SPF means you re-apply sunblock more often; higher SPF means you re-apply less often.
What you want to make sure is that the sunblock protects you against both UVA and UVB rays. =)
the exchange of texts messages was giving me some sort of a weird connotation..haha
anyway, where in bohol had you been?
panglao?
loboc?
bohol beach club?
@bryan anthony the first: Yeah, that could work. :)
@rainb: Hmmm... interesting. I'll think abuot it. hehehe
@roneiluke,rn: It's painful. Same here. :)
@joelmcvie: Now I understand why I still got sunburns after massively applying those lotions. Urgh. Had I known better, those could have been avoided. Thanks for educating me on that matter. :)
@lance: We went to the usual tourist attractions in Bohol. We stayed in one of the resorts along Alona Beach.
traffic lights?
lol.
Anyway, I hope to see Bohol's pics in here.
awww...how sweet :) I love gettin text messages :)
Btw, thanks for your comment. And I stopped looking...it will find me eventually. :)
Hope things go well for you and whoever that is! :)

@kris jasper: You got it! hehehe
Yeah, I just might. I am still thinking about it though. hehehe
How are you?
@~kinesics: No worries.
Yeah it will sure find you. I hope, it will find me too. lol
Thanks. Yeah, everything is doing well between us. Just platonic really.
i agree. but i think violins will just be a nuisance to students already busy on their studies...
i don't feel any better... i'm going crazy T_T
i feel for you, ang hapdi ng sunburn na yun. KASO NDE KO PINAGSISISIHAN ang disneyland!
payong is mightier than sunblock lotions!
i also want to visit bohol. ano itinerary nio?
@chyng: I agree, umbrella is mightier than sunblock however it would have been weird to carry an umbrella while snorkling. hehehe
When we arrived we went to the usual tourist attractions ----> Chocoloate Hills, Loboc River (floating restaurant), Tarsier Sanctuary, oldest Church (i forgot the name), Sandugo Alliance spot, some cave somwhere then we retreated to the resort.
The next day, we went dolphin watching, then snorkling (that's where I got the sunburn) then to this virgin island that was totally awesome.
Hmmm... Maybe I'll post some pictures. hehehe
The oldest church in Bohol is the Baclayon Church (mnemonic device: "bakla yun!"). Somewhere behind the church (supposedly, though I've not seen it yet) is the house of one Cesar Manhilot, more popularly known as Cesar Montano.
Snorkling after dolphin watching? Either you went to Pamilacan Island or to Balicasag Island.
off-topic ito but i just can't contain myself. i have read the raves about you at blogpest. i am sooo proud of you, joaqui! ang galing-galing mo! :)
@joelmcvie: Thanks. Thanks.
Now, I remember Balicasag and Baclayon. hehehe
@aris: Thanks so much!!! :)
